15 Month Check Up

This weekend at Whole Foods in the grocery cart/car. This photo is REALLY representative of how we are each day around here!

Well we have a new big guy! Christian beat out his little brother on weight this last week at their 15 month! Christian weights 24 pounds, 2 oz and was 32" tall. He was in the 50% for weight, 75 % for height and 75% for head size. Big Boy! He had grown 1 1/4 inch in a little over 2 months. Wow! Since this guy was born at 14 1/2 inches that is pretty amazing to me!
Brock did great at his apt too weighing in at 23 pounds 11 oz and 32" tall. He also had the same exact head size as Christian (48cm). He was very close to 50% weight and same on all the other statistics. The doctor was very impressed with both boys and we got the same advise on Brock's breath holding tantrums as before.... leave him alone and he will just quit when he is ready (about 3 years old or so). She told us some kids are just more difficult than others and it is a total personality thing. She said most kids who start tantrums like this early like this end up being type A personalities. Wonder where he gets that?!? FYI, I am bringing this up in his wedding toast....j/k :)
She also gave me permission to keep our night time bottle for a little while longer. They were supposed to be cut off all bottles as of 15 months and I think Brock would be just fine but Christian is a bit more picky with his milk sippy cups and gets most of his milk at night before bed. I am going to keep him on it at least another month to make sure he is ready to drop that liquid. He loves it so much and I just don't think he is ready just yet. Good news for Brock since he is in the team he gets to keep drinking milk too (although I do feel he is ready to drop the bottle).
Boys are starting to slow down in weigh gain since they take life on at full speed ahead. Very normal for little toddlers and they have really slimmed down :( We now have little men instead of babies.

Halloweeeeeeen Part 2

Our best shot... Brock is not so happy.

My parents and the boys!

Grady loves his costume

A tired mom and the boys... it has been a long day :)

Getting everyone to look at the camera proved to much...

Grandpa showing Brock that the helmet is not really so bad.

I ran out of picture room on my last post so here are a couple more from the weekend of Halloween. Brock did NOT like his helmet. Such a sad baby.

Weather has turned cold and rainy here... perfect sleeping in weather and the babies and I took advantage this morning and snoozed until 745a. Lovely.

It has been another great couple of weeks around here except it was MOM's turn to get sick! Brandon and I had his 10 year reunion from college (old man!) and toward the end of the night I had lost my voice and was feeling really sick. It was bad by Sunday morning. After a quick trip to a CareNow I had the yuck. Per doctors orders I was to stay away from the babies. Thank you Brandon for being a single parent until I was able to get out of bed! Before that Sunday, we took the babies to buy pumpkins at a local patch. They LOVED the little pumpkins and Brock picked out a couple of little ones he liked and carried them all around the patch. We didn't get very many good ones of them together... they were having WAY to much fun to stop for the camera :)

Last Friday my parents came to Dallas to see the guys in their costumes for Halloween. Christian was Yoda, Brock was Darth Vader and Grady was Chewbaka (sp?). They were soooo cute!!! Sat afternoon they all had a party at the Little Gym in costumes celebrating a friend's 1st birthday. Happy Birthday Chloe! The boys had SUCH a wonderful time running and jumping and more running. They were like tiny hurricane's at her party!

Sunday night we took them trick-o-treating with friends. Wheew! Big weekend! The boys are getting SOOOO big and are just little men now. They love to chase each other around the house and scream and laugh. It is just the cutest thing ever. They love each other so much.

Christian had a BIG milestone this week. He said "Bye Bye" and waved when our nanny
Sandra left. SOOOO cute! He is walking so well now and really loves being mobile. He is still so sweet and always has a huge smile on his face when you get him up in the morning and put him down at night. He loves to mimic you and will match all your sounds and motions.

Brock is a tornado. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and has an endless amount of energy. He likes to bark like a puppy, "talks" all day and is into everything! He is so social and has his nose in everything. He loves to climb everything in the house and run around like crazy at the park. You have to keep one eye on this little one :) He is a bit tougher for Brandon and I but love him like crazy. His new thing is holding his breath during tantrums, passing out and then being really upset. It makes all of us upset.
We have our 15 month apt on Friday and we can't see how much our big men weigh!!

Brock... push me higher!

We have two VERY active toddlers around here these days!! They had a great time with nana and papa last weekend while Brandon and I went to FL for a quick weekend trip. The boys ate, went to the pumpkin patch and had a great time hanging with their grandparents!

This week we have just tried to keep them safe while they blow through our house with the speed of light :) Today Sara and I took all three boys to the park. In the past I have had one mobile baby and one not so mobile.... today, all moving and going and that makes for one tired mama and auntie. Sara and I chased them around while they tried to steal chicken fingers from a little girl, crawl into another ladies stroller, steal a truck from another group of unsuspecting kids, Brock licked a tree, ate grass and dirt all while Christian tried to take Grady's bottle. Yikes.
The twins also got to play with Sara's dog Maggie today... priceless. Christian loved it and Brock was terrified.
We are also attempting to get our house ready to market (yes, still). It is so hard to get anything done with the twins so what I feel like we could have done in a couple of good weeks is still an on-going project. I REALLY hope we can finish up this month.
The babies are still loving Mother's Day Out and playing with all the kids. We have their 15 month check up at the end of the month and I can't believe we are already here!!! Hopefully soon they can sit at picnic tables and eat like calm children at the park :) (I am not holding my breath).

Over our Illness!

The boys are finally better and over their cold, ears etc. After a trip to the ER two Saturday's ago and a full 10 days of meds they are finally on the mend! We had Brandon's parents in town two weekends ago and they got to spend lots of time with Brock and just a little with Christian since he was one sick puppy. He spent most of the day on saturday sleeping then we drove his to the ER at around 430p since he would not eat or drink. He pepped up at the emergency room (of course) but I am glad we took him in anyway. They said we were doing all the right things. He is better this week and got to have a play date this last Saturday and go to an OU/Texas party with his cousin Grady. Fun!

Brandon has been traveling quite a bit so not as many pictures. We have just been cruising a long. Brock is a sprinter now and can also figure out how to get in most gates and everywhere else. He loves to explore and is very active and fun. LOTS of grunting and noises from him. He is getting more hair and has 6 teeth. Brock is "over" napping a lot and we usually get 1.5 hours to 2 hours all day with him now.

Christian stopped walking and moving for a couple of weeks with his illness but seems to be more on the move again this week. He will walk from table to couch and dart to things in his line of sight. He still loves to be held and cuddled. He is such a little sweet child and we love to see him do all his new things. He has finally gotten good a pulling up on things and he is more mobile than he has ever been. He has 8 teeth that I think is turing into 10. Christian LOVES to sleep. He is almost always woken up by Brock... I think he could nap for 3 hours a day if he was alone.

Both boys eat a TON of food. I steam and chop, steam and chop. They are going to eat us out of house and home in high school. They love meat, cheese, veggies (orange) and fruit. The only thing they don't really like is green veggies and califlour. Apparently those are yucky.

They are going to stay with my parents for first time without Brandon and I this weekend. I am sure they will all have soooo much fun!

Brandon and I have a busy fall this year, such a contrast to last year. We are so looking forward to having the guys dedicated at our church on the 17th and also taking them to the pumpkin patch this year! It will be a very different winter now that we can take them out of the house!

Ear Infection, Pink Eye and Diarrhea oh my!

What a crazy couple of weeks! As I think I mentioned in an earlier post Christian has been VERY cranky lately. Turns out he had an ear infection. We took him in last Tuesday and got him all checked out and he got 10 days of antibiotics. Then, Brock got diarrhea later that week and we have been battling a terrible diaper rash since. Finally, Brock had crusty eye this morning which turned out to be PINK EYE! AHHHHH. Apparently very contagious so we are doing LOTS of hand washing. So now we have drops for the ears, drops for the eyes and pink antibiotics for C. I guess this is what happens when you put your kid with other kiddos after a very sheltered year. I guess the boys are working on their immunities.

Also at the end of last week we got to hid in the bathroom during the twister and on Monday we woke up to a VERY hot house... our air conditioned died. After a consultation, LOTS of sweating and bargaining, we have a new trane unit outside. It is nice and cool in here today. Yeah!

Hopefully we will have two healthy kiddos to drop off for our third MDO day... I hope we are getting all built up with our immunities.

On the plus side, Christian is walking so much better. We call his walk the "frankinToddle". He holds his arms at a 90 degree angle and darts for a wall or furniture. So cute. He started to get more adventurous last Thursday and has been just doing great! He can make it from our living room table to the front door if he wants to. Brock is a spitfire these days. He practically runs around now and walking is his major form of locomotion.

They are becoming little men before our eyes. We will try to take more pics this weekend. We all have their once a year NICU reunion on Sat. (we can only go for a few minutes) but I hope we can see some of our wonderful nurses and staff.

MDO

Brock making a new friend down the hall
Brock, super excited to see mommy at 2p!

Christian is deciding if he likes it here...

The boys going to their class room.

The boys had their first day of school today and they did great!! We arrived a little before 9 and picked them up at 2. Apparently no one napped but they must have had fun since they are still asleep :)

Christian has had a VERY cranky week and we don't know if is because we weened him off his acid reflux meds to fast or if he is getting a tooth or what. We just know he is crying and isn't able to be comforted. Needless to say, we were not to sad to have a couple of hours of quiet around here. We have re-started him on his medication and I hope that helps.
